Who We Are
We bring the centuries-old drumming art of our homeland, Burundi, to the stage. Our performances are an intense blend of rhythm, dance, song and acrobatics, through which we tell the stories of our culture and everyday life.
Historically, these rituals were reserved for sacred ceremonies – such as the coronation of Burundian kings, births, or royal funerals. Today, our performances pursue a universal goal: our art stands for peaceful coexistence and aims to connect people across all borders.
Our instruments are more than mere sound bodies. In our culture, they are sacred and symbolize fertility and regeneration. Each drum is handcrafted the traditional way from selected tree trunks, covered with cowhide, and weighs between 40 and 100 kilograms.
